Viking belt, long belt in Borre style, brown leather belt

The Borre style is also known as the Gripping Beast style and is a widespread stylistic period of Viking Age art from the 9th to 10th centuries. The Borre style was named after the village of Borre in the Norwegian municipality of Horten, located on the western shore of the Oslofjord. Characteristic of the Borre style are its animal and knot ornaments, which can be found on numerous pieces of Viking Age jewelry. The Borre style is one of the earlier of the seven great Viking art styles and was replaced by the Jelling style during the 10th century.
