Thor's Hammer - Norseman Bronze Pendant
Norse Thor's Hammer
Thor, who was the strongest of all the Old Norse gods, was highly revered. God of storms and lightning, Thor slew trolls and man-eating giants, and ensured good harvests.
Thor, son of Odin and Jörð, had two sons, Magni and Modi, with his consort, the giantess Jarnsaxa.
Thor rules in the hall Bilskirnir, his palace in the realm of Thrudheim, and he proudly carries his hammer Mjölnir. The "Thor's Hammer" was once forged by the dwarves Sindri and Brokk.
Thor derives his strength from his belt Megingjörð and his iron gauntlets Járngreipr.
As is still the case today, Thor's Hammer was worn by pagan people for many centuries as protection from danger. Thor's Hammer is THE symbol of the pagan faith.
