Black T-shirt "Victory or Valhalla" Valhalla, Valhöll - Wotan's Hall.
Valhalla is Odin's dwelling and drinking hall in Asgard.
Valhalla is located in Frohheim (Gladsheim, Old Norse Glaðsheimr, Glittering Home) in the Glesnir Grove.
Gladsheim is decorated with gold and precious stones. The river "Thund" flows protectively around Gladsheim.
The roof of Valhalla is covered with battle shields, and the walls are built of spears - as described in the Edda "Grimnismal 9".
Valhalla is of immense size: There are 540 gates; through each of these gates, 800 Einherjar can march in or out to battle simultaneously - as described in the Edda "Grimnismal 23".
In the middle of Valhalla stands the world tree "Läradr," which is most likely synonymous with the world ash "Yggdrasil." The goat "Heidrun" eats the leaves from the branches of "Läradr," and through her udders flows so much mead that all Einherjar can be amply supplied with it daily.
Daily, Odin's Einherjar - warriors - compete in combat. In the evenings, everyone gathers in Odin's hall for a great feast and banquet. The Valkyries serve beer and mead, and the boar Sæhrímnir is slaughtered and consumed anew each day. The cook and grill master in Valhalla is named "Andhrimnir" (Sooty-face), whose face is already completely blackened/sooty from constantly standing by the fire-cauldron.
Daily, the boar Sæhrímnir miraculously comes back to life and must be slaughtered, prepared, and cooked over the fire anew.
The Valkyries also have the task of collecting the honorably fallen warriors from the battlefields and bringing them to Valhalla.
Among the Vikings, it was customary to hold one's sword in hand when dying - associated with the belief of then coming to Valhalla to live on and celebrate with Odin forever.
Other "warriors" who distinguished themselves as cowards during their lifetime in Midgard had to eke out their existence in the bleak and unpopular Helheim with the goddess of death, Hel!
The really bad "scoundrels" who had distinguished themselves in Midgard as, for example, perjurers, murderers, and adulterers, went to Nastrond (Náströnd) into eternal banishment, an even more desolate place which also belongs to Helheim.
It may certainly be more difficult to get to Valhalla in today's times... - but our gaze and faith should always turn towards Valhalla!
Through heroism, integrity, perseverance, and self-sacrifice, one may hopefully secure one's place - alongside the many Einherjar warriors and ancestors whom we may then meet and see again in Valhalla.
This T-shirt is meant to be worn as a reminder and in remembrance of our ancestors...
We will all see each other again in Valhalla, if only we wish for it....
