Ring "Black Sun".

The "magical" (black) sun is first concretely attested in the Akkadian-Old Babylonian area (Sargon I, Naram-Sin). As BAB-CHOME, the invisible "dark sun" is considered an earthly power source of the supreme deity "ILU," directly connected to the divine power acting from the hereafter, which - in part - can be utilized by the gods and goddesses, especially Anu, Enlil, Ea, Ishtar, and Marduk. The close kinship of this world of gods with that of the Edda has been proven, albeit so far without a definitive, certain explanation for this Mesopotamian-Germanic commonality.

One of the best-known and most beautiful depictions of the "Black Sun," placed next to the "Sun of the Day," is found on the large Naram-Sin Stele preserved in the Louvre in Paris. The myth of the "Black Sun" traveled from Southern Babylonia to Assyria, Persia, Phoenicia, Carthage, and Egypt. Emperor Frederick II brought an Assyrian amulet with the "Black Sun" to Europe; and this is its first tangible appearance in Europe (which, however, says nothing about whether the "Black Sun" belief might not have been indigenous to us in earlier Germanic times, see Mesopotamian-Germanic commonality).
