Stainless steel jewelry with PVD coating.
PVD coatings are used, for example, for blackening stainless steel jewelry and also in sensitive areas such as medical technology and the food industry. The coating is not harmful to health!
In a high-vacuum process, hard-material coating metals are transferred to the stainless steel jewelry by arc evaporation. This process enables a very thin, hard, and very strongly adhering PFD layer.
- Coating hardness is up to approx. 3500 Vickers hardness (355 Rockwell hardness)
- Layer thickness: 1 – 4 µ
- Coating temperature approx. 450° C
- High hardness and high wear protection
- Excellent optical finish with a smooth surface
- Excellent adhesion to the stainless steel
- Very good contour fidelity on the stainless steel
- Very clean process, without environmental impact
