Ring-knifed knife, Germanic knife of the Iron Age with brown leather sheath
Hand-forged, twisted, turned, sharp-ground, length approx. 25 cm. Weight approx. 250 g. With brown leather sheath: The leather sheath is made from sturdy 3 mm thick cowhide. Overall height 25.5, width 8 cm.
A model prevalent since the pre-Roman Iron Age, originally of Celtic origin. Ring pommel knives belong to the La Tene period, the early Germanic Iron Age, which according to Christian reckoning would be the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD.
