The Triskele, also known as Triskelion ("three-legged"), is a Celtic symbol in the form of three running legs arranged in an isosceles triangle or, more generally, open spirals.
In general, this symbol, for which historical examples can be found in Irish Newgrange, for instance, is associated with pagan triad symbolism. Little is known about the original meanings of the Triskele spirals. It is often assumed – as with most spiral forms – that they represent the path of life (sun symbol).
