Fenris Wolf in Chains, Figurine / Statue, Artificial Stone (Polyresin)
The Fenris wolf (Fenrir, Fenris, Fenrisúlfr) is, in Norse mythology, the first child of the god Loki.
Depicted here is the Fenris wolf, bound by the war god Tyr. The more Fenris tugged at the fetter, the tighter it became. The wolf remained bound, but then bit off Tyr's right hand, which he had placed in the Fenris wolf's mouth as a pledge. In this way, the world of the gods was saved by the god Tyr, who was known as both the god of war and of the Thing assembly.
