Viking-era jewelry pendant in Borre style, based on a find from Finland.
Here with four animal heads and snake patterns. The 4 animal heads could also allude to the seasons.
The Borre style dates back to the 9th to 10th centuries and was named after the grave find of Borre in Vestfold / Norway.
Typical for this style are animal ornaments, animal heads, and knot patterns. The Borre style is also known as the Gripping Beast style. It was particularly widespread in Eastern Scandinavia.
