This wonderful quince liqueur was named after Thor's wife, Sif.

Sif is the wife of the thunder god Thor. She brings her son Ullr, a very skilled archer, into the marriage. With Thor, Sif has a younger son, Thrud.
It is said that Loki, in a fit of spite, once cut off all of Sif's hair. When Thor noticed this, he grabbed Loki and was about to beat him severely. But Loki swore to persuade the dark elves to create hair from gold that would grow like real hair.
